Theater By The Sea Announces Summer 2022 Season

WAKEFIELD, RI – After two very difficult years, Theater by the sea owner and producer Bill Hanney is delighted to announce the opening of the box office for the sale of single tickets for the Summer season 2022. Starting on Friday April 29, customers can purchase tickets online for Theater By The Sea Monday concerts and eventsthe children’s party and new Musical series of children’s summer fairy talesand all or part of the following four fabulous musicals:

Million Dollar Foursome: The Tony® The award-nominated musical is set on December 4, 1956, when an extraordinary twist of fate brought Johnny Cash, Jerry Lee Lewis, Carl Perkins and Elvis Presley together at Sun Records in Memphis for what would be one of the greatest jams ever. all-time sessions. Million Dollar Foursome brings that legendary December night to life with a compelling story of broken promises, secrets, betrayals and celebrations that are both poignant and fun. Relive the era with the hit sensation featuring an incredible score of rock ‘n’ roll, gospel, R&B and country hits, performed live on stage by world-class actors and musicians. Hit songs featured include “Blue Suede Shoes”, “Fever”, “Walk the Line”, “Sixteen Tons”, “Who Do You Love?”, “Great Balls of Fire”, “Folsom Prison Blues”, “Whole Lotta Shakin “Goin’ On”, “Hound Dog”, and more. The magical production features an incredible live orchestra, jaw-dropping transformations, and all the memorable moments, including the Pumpkin, the Glass Slipper, the Masquerade Ball, and more, plus surprising new twists! Rediscover some of Rodgers + Hammerstein’s most beloved songs, including “In My Own Little Corner”, “Impossible/It’s Possible” and “Ten Minutes Ago”. It’s a hilarious and romantic experience for anyone of any age who’s ever had a dream. Rodgers + Hammerstein Cinderella will be presented from July 20 – August 13, 2022.

Naughty Boots: “Sometimes the best way to fit in is to stand out!” Naughty boots is the freshest, most fabulous and most enjoyable musical and the winner of all major awards, including the 2013 Tony Award® Best New Musical Award! With Grammy songs® and Tony® Award-winning pop icon Cyndi Lauper and Broadway legend Harvey Fierstein’s book (La Cage aux Folles, Newsies), this dazzling, fabulously sassy and uplifting musical celebrates a joyous story, inspired by real events, taking you from the factory floor of a men’s show factory in Northampton to the glamorous catwalks of Milan! It’s the ultimate fun night for you and your loved ones to experience the energy, joy and laughter of this dazzling show. Naughty boots will be presented from August 17 – September 11, 2022.

Previews of all productions are scheduled for Wednesdays at 8:00 p.m. and Thursdays at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. Opening weekend performances will be Friday at 8:00 p.m., Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m., and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. All other performances will take place Tuesday to Saturday evenings at 8:00 p.m., Thursday at 2:00 p.m., Saturday at 3:00 p.m. and Sunday at 5:00 p.m. Other matinee performances will take place on Wednesday, June 1; Wednesday June 15; Wednesday July 13; and Wednesday August 10 at 2 p.m. The theater is located at 364 Cards Pond Road, Wakefield, RI. the Monday concerts and events the series will include Once in a lifetime! Fats Domino meets Liberace presented by Harvey Robin, Seth’s Big Broadway Show with SiriusXM Radio Seth Rudetsky, A man with standards with “Seinfield” John O’Hurleyand by Gerard Alessandrini Broadway’s Greatest Banned Hits! hosted by Christine Pedi. Performances are scheduled for Monday evenings at 7:30 p.m. on June 13, July 11, August 1 and August 29. Ticket prices start at $35. the Children’s Day 2022which will take place on certain Friday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. will present performances by Traditions of Chinese Acrobats by Li Liu, Magician Scott Jameson, by Disney Frozen Jr., magician and juggler Robert Clarke, and Go home little monster presented by The Gottabees. Tickets are $13. New this season will be a Fairy tale musical series presented on select Wednesday mornings at 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. Productions will include The beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, and Sleeping Beauty, as originally produced by Kaleidoscope Theater with book, music and lyrics by David G.
