the Roys implode in Chiantishire

The nuptials act as a sort of reunion, with Caroline choosing to invite Logan over, which means the fractured Roy family is back under one roof. What could possibly go wrong?

It’s refreshing to learn that even if you are traveling by private jet, traveling with your parents can provide a dose of perspective: we are all destined to be the people who made us.

The first Roy to face this fatality is Shiv. Suffering from a crisis of confidence, she seeks an audience with the only other female figure accustomed to sailing Roy boys: her mother.

Usually unfazed, Shiv has been reduced to a spectator in recent weeks, first by his father, then his brother. So maybe my dear mother can offer a glimpse, a shoulder to cry on?

Instead, they find themselves in more familiar Roy territory: verbal eliminations delivered with barely concealed resentment. When discussing Caroline’s decision to let the children live with Logan, Shiv accuses his mother of abandoning them.

“I gave him custody, so that you could keep your shares; I was protecting your interests, ”Caroline explains. “I don’t think I have ever won a single battle in my life.”

This last element touches Shiv, who understands what it feels like to be pushed aside by the men in her family, while pushing her husband aside.

At the same time, the two most similar men – Kendall and Logan – organize a shoot on their own.

If you needed a reminder of how serious their relationship was, Logan suspects Kendall of poisoning his pasta, so he tricks Kendall’s son Iverson to taste it first.

“Who do you take me for?” Kendall asks after Iverson (unpoisoned) leaves, but the real question is: who does Kendall fear he will become? (Spoiler alert: it’s Logan).

And so, after two and a half seasons of rivalry for the top spot, Kendall is typing.

“Pay and let me out; I don’t want to be you, he pleads. Naturally, Logan won’t let his firstborn get away that easily. Even in the midst of Kendall’s timely rebranding, Logan knows who his son is and what he’s been up to.

“How long did this kid live before he started sucking water?” Logan asks, referring to the car crash in a lake that drowned a hotel employee in season one. This isn’t the first time he’s put Kendall where he wants it: cornered, scared and defeated.

As for Roman, his loss is the most striking, caused by an erroneous text sent to the wrong recipient. As his relationship with Gerri (J. Smith-Cameron) has dried up, he can’t help but send her an obscene celebratory text after a victory in the GoJo negotiations.

Unfortunately, he types in the wrong number, and it goes to his father. “She’s a million years old; it’s disgusting, you’re the laughing stock, ”Logan barks. From the seat of the box to the outcast with a simple text.

Chiantishire sets the scene for next week’s season finale by ending the episode with a haunting image. We see Kendall floating face down in a swimming pool. A beer bottle sinks to the bottom, and it’s unclear if he could follow soon.
