So many artists, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), put together some more new music that we would call “indie” and talk about what metal is releasing. We post music news, song premieres and more all day long. We update a weekly playlist of some of our favorite tracks right now. Here’s a daily recap with a bunch of interesting, recently released songs in one place.

RUN THE JEWELS – “OOH LA LA” (REMIX ft. LIL WAYNE, GREG NICE & DJ PREMIER)

Run The Jewels has released a deluxe edition of the great RTJ4, and this one includes a version of “Ooh La La” that opens with a fiery verse from Lil Wayne.

LOGIC – “PERFECT” (REMIX ft. LIL WAYNE & A $ AP FERG)

Speaking of Lil Wayne’s features, here’s a new version of Logic’s “Perfect” that features one, as well as A $ AP Ferg.

GUNS N ROSES – “HARD SKOOL”

In August, Guns N ‘Roses released “ABSUЯD”. Chinese democracy Track. They’ve now shared a second Chinese democracy out, this one is called “Hard Skool”.

NICK CAVE – “TIMIDITY”

Nick Cave shared a new spoken word single inspired by his letter to Daniel and Vera from issue 68 on his Red Hand Files website. It is available in vinyl in his online store.

COLDPLAY FT BTS – “MY UNIVERSE”

It’s finally here, Coldplay’s collaboration with global South Korean sensations BTS. Coldplay’s new album, Music of the spheres, comes out October 15.

CUPCAKKE – “MARGE SIMPSON”

CupcakKe’s new single is inspired by The Simpsons character and presents CupcakKe dressed as her in the video.

LATTO – “BIG ENERGY”

Atlanta rapper Latto (fka Mulatto) follows “The Biggest” with the new single “Big Energy”, which is powered by a very funky sample of Tom Tom Club’s “Genius of Love” and is accompanied by a video that play the Latto / lotto word game.

MORRAY – “BAD SITUATIONS”

It’s been a huge breakout year for soulful singer-rapper Morray, who recently released his debut album. Street sermons, and today he follows him with “Bad Situations”, another great track which is cut from the same fabric as his album.

JANELLE MONAE – SAY HER NAME (HELL YOU TALMBOUT) FT. VARIOUS ARTISTS

This 17-minute sequel to Janelle Monae’s protest song “Hell You Talmbout” honors black women and girls killed by police and benefits the African American Policy Forum. “This work is too important to be done alone and can only be supported by our collective voices,” Janelle writes. “We’re responding to that call to action as girls trying to create a world where stories like these are no longer common. It’s a rallying cry.

BIA – “BESITO” (ft. G HERBO)

“Whole Lotta Money” hitmaker Bia continues to rise, and now she has a new song with G Herbo which finds her rapping in English and Spanish.

GUNNA & FUTURE – “EASY TOP”

Gunna and Future make it feel like it’s too easy on this effortless, catchy new trap-pop song.

DESTROYING THE BOYS – “ESCAPE”

NorCal punks Destroy Boys shared the latest single from their product Will Yip Open mouth, open heart, which arrives on 10/8 via Hopeless. This one is a catchy, buzzing indie-punk song that singer Alexia Roditis says is “about wanting to get out of the ordinary life I was living. […] to want to go on tour and to want to escape reality in any way possible. “

PRINCESS NOKIA – “THE BOYS ARE FROM MARCH” FT. BABY YUNG’S TATE

Ahead of her fall tour and Governors Ball set, Princess Nokia shared this playful and bouncy new single with Yung Baby Tate.

MODERN STARS – “ARTIFICIAL WOMEN”

The Modern Stars of Italy have released a new psychedelic song, “Artificial Wombs”, and it’s accompanied by a video that pays tribute to the women who freed themselves from modern slavery.

SUNNY – “LEVITATION”

Earlier this year, Norwegian post-metal band Sundrowned released the heavy / beautiful album Become ethereal, and now they’ve followed it up with a seven-minute song that mostly leans on their pretty post-rock side and itches a similar itch.

DREG – “CELESTIAL EMISSARY”

DREG follow their recent Praxis I: Turbine blade gore with “Celestial Emissary”, a chaotic dose of digital metalcore.

WESTSIDE GUNN – “THE FLY THAT COULDN’T FLY RIGHT” (ft. TYLER, THE CREATOR)

Westside Gunn released the second part of his HWH8: Regards Adolf double album, and this one reunites him with Tyler, the creator, who made a standout appearance on Gunn’s 2020 album Pray for Paris.

AIMEE MANN – “BURN IT OUT”

The latest single from Aimee Mann’s new album Girl interrupted– inspired album Queens of the summer hotel is “Burn it”. “In this song, a self-sacrificing character wonders if she tried to banish ghosts from trauma through a drastic self-destructive act,” says Aimee.

CRYOGEYSER – “FOREIGN”

Led by Los Angeles indie rock dreamer Shawn Marom, Cryogyser, and set to release new album time tied together October 29 via Terrible. Like the rest of the album, “Foreigner” was produced by Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Jeff Rosenstock) and you can feel the kinship here.

CRUSH OF SOULS (CHUCK FROM CROCODILES) – “CALL YOU”

Charles Rowell of Crocodiles has a side project, Crush of Souls, with Zeynep Kaya from Strasbourg group Hermetic Delight. They’re doing dancing darkwave and here’s the video for the title song of their new one I call you EP.

PINK FLOYD – “YET ANOTHER FILM (DEMO)”

Said David Gilmour: “I thought, this week, that we would put the original demo, written by Pat Leonard and myself, for what would become ‘Yet Another Movie’ on the album ‘A Momentary Lapse of Reason’. . Pat Leonard and I met in Astoria in September 1986, a few days after playing on a Bryan Ferry track he was producing. We had a glass or two of wine and jammed for hours. For some reason I can’t remember, I chose the fretless bass as my instrument of the day. It has become a beautiful song. “

DURAN DURAN & GIORGIO MORODER – “THIS NIGHT UNITED”

“This is music for a reforming world,” says Duran Duran of “Tonight United”, their new collaboration with dance music icon Giorgio Moroder. With a very Moroder gurgling bassline, Duran Duran embarks on electro disco on this anthemic track, co-produced by Erol Alkan, who also gets writing credit with the band, Giorgio and Graham Coxon of Blur.

ANAND WILDER (YEASAYER) – “DELIRIUM PASS”

Yeasayer’s Anand Wilder has announced his debut solo album, and you can read more about the single “Delirium Passes” here.

SADNESS – “BE HAPPY” & BE SWEET – “WE WILL FINALLY LET GO”

Illinois post-black metal band Sadness and Oregon screamo band To Be Gentle have just released a split single, which you can read more about here.

156 / SILENCE – “BAD SENSE”

Pittsburgh metalcore upstarts 156 / Silence has announced a new EP, and you can read more about the lead single here.

PORTUGAL. THE MAN – “STEAL MY SUNSHINE” (LEN COVER FT. CHERRY GLAZERR) & “NOVOCAINE FOR THE SOUL” (EELS COVER FT. SIR CHLOE)
