New Music Competition Shows “No Cover” Featuring Rockers Alice Cooper, Gavin Rossdale and More

Hard rock fans, rejoice!

There’s finally a new music contest for you.

That’s right, big names in metal and rock have come together to pitch (and judge) unsigned acts in the new show. No coverage.

The new series, which focuses purely on rock, features artists like Alice Cooper, Halestorm’s Lzzy Hale, Bush vocalist Gavin Rossdale, Animals as Leaders guitarist Tosin Abasi and British musician Bishop Briggs.

The Performers Collection watches unsigned artists perform their own original songs and decide if they have what it takes to be a star on the world stage.

The first two episodes are on YouTube and can be viewed below.

The show’s official Twitter page shared news of the new episodes, writing, “Our show kicks off TONIGHT with two back-to-back episodes at 6:00 PM PST/9:00 PM EST FREE on the Sumerian youtube channel! Subscribe now and don’t miss a thing. http://youtube.com/SumerianRecords.”

Unlike other popular shows—american idol and The voicewhich feature contestants performing covers of other people’s songs—No coverage only authorizes the broadcast of artists’ original material in front of the judges.

The winner of the show is offered a series of big prizes, including a six-figure recording contract with Sumerian Records, a high profile festival slot, representation from a booking agency, management, time in the studio, new material (from Gibson), endorsements and licensing opportunities.

The new show, produced by Hit Parade, is hosted by Kellin Quinn of Sleeping With Sirens and Caity Babs of SiriusXM Octane.

Both episodes last about half an hour.
