Above & Beyond has launched a new label called Reflections. Alongside their existing Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep labels, the new venture will focus on ambient and downtempo tracks.

“Our two record labels, Anjunabeats and Anjunadeep, were born on the dancefloor,” says the trio of producers. “For over 20 years, these labels have taken us, our music and our artists to dancefloors around the world. Anjuna’s third label is our new downtempo and ambient label called Reflections, and we’re excited to share it with you.”

“Reflections was born out of all those moments between the dance floors,” they add. “The next mornings, the separate nights, the shared journeys along the way. These moments of Reflection”.

The new label will also focus on mental health and the role of music in health and well-being. Label manager Penny Longstaff explains: “In addition to the music we’ll be releasing – much of which will be conducive to sleep, relaxation and concentration – we’re also releasing a host of mood-based mixes. . It opens up so many new avenues that we can reach out to with music.”

The co-founder of the parent company of the three labels Involved Group, James Grant, adds: “It’s a genre in which we have a history and in which we belong”.

“If you look back on what we did on the Above & Beyond albums,” he continues, “there were always two or three standout downtempo tracks that connected really well. Then, with everyone stuck at home, people had that kind of music playing in the background as they worked. Ambient listening has become a really important thing. So a lot of things came together to make Reflections a good idea at the right time.”

“A lot of our artists naturally started sending us this stuff,” he continues. “Yotto, for example, wrote a chill-out album that he sent to us when we were already preparing this label. His album ‘Erased Dreams’ will be the first album on Reflections”.

So this is the confirmed first album release, but not the first release. That track goes to Above & Beyond’s new double A-side single, ‘Morning In Deira / Time Heals’.
